The Foundation for Adolescent Development, (FAD) Inc. in cooperation with the Metro West Network (MWN) has capacitated 19 NGO partners in Metro Manila in dealing with sexuality and reproductive health concerns and issues of children and youth in need of special protection such as the street children.
The MWN covers the cities of Manila. Makati, Mandaluyong and San Juan. The 19 NGO partners from MWN are implementing programs in education, livelihood, nutrition, values formation to name a few.
FAD’s capacity building assistance to the NGOs consisted of a basic training on adolescent health and sexuality; continuing education in the form of lecture series; case conferences and case consultation with subject matter experts, orientation on the referral system, to name a few.
As part of the sustainability mechanism, FAD developed a “User’s Guide on ASRH for Service Providers of Children and Youth in Need of Special Protection.” The “User’s Guide” consists of eight modules for a total of 21 lessons.

Complementing the guide is a special video for street children entitled: Kalyeng Liku-liko.” The video examines how kids end up in the streets, the different life situations faced by street children and dangers and risks they face on a day-to-day basis.
The video also challenges a street child to know his/her rights and that he/she has a choice to leave the street for a better life.
NGOs that are interested in FAD’s capacity building programs for a fee may contact Ms. Cecille Villa, FAD Executive Director at 734.1788 and 735.5369 or email at fadinc@pldtdsl.net.
